Rabsho, I think there's a Rahanweyn sub-clan called Qoomaal & that it's Qoomaal's sub-clan and hence why he's named that, I heard. But I can be wrong.

I've never heard of Qoomaal, but Google supports your assertion; there's 0 result for Oomaal, close to 3000 results for Qoomaal.

^ Qamal is actually arabic, the somali of that is Injir.
yep.. Both are semitic so you would find words That are similar. except for few pronounciation difference, qamal in arabic and qomal in Eritrean semitic languages.
It is not qomal but Qoomaal, with double vowels oo & aa. Plus, it is the name of a sub-clan of Rahanweyn, which is the sub-clan of the singer, I think.
some of the videos say Qomaal.

Qimaal??? its qomaal In Tigrigna and Tigre Eritrean. you have to understand that even though its the same words as arabic 99% of the time the pronounciation would change by letter or a vowel. I don't know about amhara but their language is more Agew Than Geez and they can't pronounce half of the Geez Letters.
How much similarity is there between Arabic and Tigrigna/Tigre Eritrean?
Arabic and Tigrigna = 10-15%
Arabic and Tigre = 15-20%
Add 5% to Each for words that have similar Meanings.

Bear In mind the similarities are with arab words that are pure semitic not New words that came to arabic of late.

Qomal is louse (lice plural) qoom'maal is to someone who has lice on his head pronouced with the double M. so you say it qoom-maal. if you say qoomal to someone he would tell you where, but if you say qommaal he would get the Message and fire insult back Unless he really does have qomaal on his head.loool
