Ramadhan Special - Qur'an Recitation appreciation thread

Postby AwdalPrince » Tue Jul 10, 2012 12:05 pm

Since Ramadhan is close I wanted to make an appreciation thread to the King of Qur'anic recitation, Shaykh Abdul Basit Abdussamad (AUN). He is unanimously by consent of the Islamic world the greatest Qur'anic Recitor of the last century and even this century because till today there is nobody who is better than him! Allahu Akbar!

I don't know what it is, but I'm really not a fan of his recitation, i'm not a fan of the Egyptian style in general

Egyptian style is the best style around. Saudi style is very fast. But the Egyptian style focuses on each letter.

I like all styles but Egyptian style is the best

FACT : The way Shaykh Abdul Basit just hits the high notes in such a heavenly way no any reciter does, its what made him unique.
Listen to this, how deep his voice becomes when he says " Innaladiina kafaru..." and how it explodes into life in the next aayah is absolutely amazing.
