granpa the main issue is not are you for or against tassawuf.
Its your opinion of the 4 madhabs.
The vast majority of our scholars, including Ibn Taymiyyah and Ibn al-Qayyim, came from madhabs and never advise the masses to abandon madhabs. Sheikh Uthaymeen advised us to follow a madhab.

Wa billahi towfiiq.

I don't really get involved in religious debates since my knowledge is limited and I'm sure many of you here have a greater understanding of deenta but it seems no one really presents their case without insulting or demeaning others

Young Abu take easy Allah knows best don't be so dismissive

U may not kno alot but the little u kno has served u well
For its better to have little but benefial knowledge than to have a vast one that has no benefit.

Dua of r.scw.

Allahuma inii acuudu bika min cilmi la yanfac.

O Allah i seek your refuge from knowledge that has no benefit.

Subhanallah, how dare you bring this creed to me.

This is the same creed that declared the Quran was created albeit they say this behind closed doors.

see the following articles for an in depth study of this horrendous belief as it basicaly means that they are saying that Allah, the Most High Isnt Able to even speak:

granpa you are confusing the ashari witht he muctazila view that the quran was created.

abu hasan al ashari believed that the quran was an attribute of god and thus uncreated.

Grandpa you are confused. When speaking of the quran you have to divide them up, one that is the speech we hear, in arabic, with letters, and sound. This is definitely a characteristic of the material world, just like our speech, that can be written and anything material is created. Now when you speak about Qur'an as the speech of Illahay that is transmitted to Gibril as and then to nabi Muhammad scw, that is uncreated. Kalam is an attribute of Illahay, illahay does not speak like us, use letters, use a tongue that requires air to make a sound, and has a beginning to end, and all his attributes (siffat) are eternal and pre-existent. Illahay's Kalam is beyond our understanding and reach, and is not temporal. I hope this clears things up.

I honestly don't know what is their aqida, all I ever hear is kitaab al tawhiid by shaykh ibn abdul wahab. To me, I have always seen what salafi's claim to not be, but I'm unclear what they are.

Have you ever heard them quoting a hadith;which sounds like Christian dogma
Allahu Aclam the authenticity of it.I just found it a bit unsettling. But what do I know
“Allah created Adam in His own image.
Or sometimes
Allah created Adam In the image of Al-Rahman (the Most Merciful)“

yeah, some people used that to anthropomorphize illahay, and go so far to say god has hands, fingers, feet, etc. I've heard a few explanations of that hadith, but nothing that mean we look like illahay.

Steady here guys. You are debating very deep stuff that requires years of study and academic background in order for you to even give an informed opinion.

LOL@comparing the Umayyads with Al saud. Omar ibn Abd al aziz raximahullah was considered by many to be the unofficial 5th rightly guided Caliph and not to mention being a descendant of Omar al Khattab RA. Even the worst Ummayad was better than the al saud.

BTW why do people think of the saudis as some kind of capliphate? They are just rullers of an arab kingdom. They do not impliment Shariah in its entirety. I dont know why people expect them to behave like the Sahaba. :?

The haramain must come under the trusteeship of the Islamic league.
