How many times has this topic been discussed. Solutions can be made if both sides are willing to compromise and make rational decisions. If SL had economic and political autonomy while still being a region of Somalia it would work. Unfortunately, telling somalis to be rational is like trying to fantasies about Hilary Clinton - not an easy task.
The more pressing issue is eliminating alshabab and restoring peace to the south.

As if somalia is china with the biggest industries in the world and the fastest growing economy in the world.
Why do people compare oranges to apples.![]()
The only Solution for Somaliland and Somalia is the two state solution noting else anything else is useless.

China has a long history and civilization the shang dynasty the han dynasty the emperor Gazu of han and many more Chinese legends. Somalilanders and Koonfurians dont share such a history or civilization despite speaking the same language they hardly agree on anything Politically socially Historically . Eventhough Somalilanders are very reasonable they would welcome Economic progress for both Somaliland and Somalia. But no political unity whats so ever been there done that.As if somalia is china with the biggest industries in the world and the fastest growing economy in the world.

China has many different ethnicities, languages, religions and is still united on the basis of economic progress (every region is too valuable). When it comes to Somalia-Somaliland though, the idea of being united is far fetched according to some.
They don't have a common history... The dynasties you're speaking never came in contact with people that today live under the Peoples republic of China.China has a long history and civilization the shang dynasty the han dynasty the emperor Gazu of han and many more Chinese legends. It will Inshallah. Don't be pessimistic...Its not going to work pal. Any form of unity wont happen.

This is what i think the Somali speaking people in the horn of Africa do not share the same history political culture traditions ethics dialects different various tribes. What they do share is the same language same religion and same traditional clothing and Food. if you look at our neighbors Ethiopia an oromo or gurage considers him an Ethiopian because they share the same history even-though they don't share the same ethnicity or religion. or china Miao and zuang and other tribes of china they do share the same history and culture to some extend. The Somali speaking people are different when you have people from the same tribe handing their fellow kin to Ethiopia when you have leaders like faroole who utters the Ogaden Somalis are not Somalis but they have learned the language of the Somalis. When you have people from the same tribe using external powers kenya and Ethiopia to achieve their subclanish objectives. You know you cant compare ur self to People who built empires and civilizations the past 2000 years or even more.
