There needs to be a force of 50,000 SNA soldiers throughout the country and 2,000 police officers in Xamar. It shouldn't cost more than $10 mil a year to pay their salaries.

They can use their aid money to fund this.

The president said his 3 priorities are: security, security and security.

If that is the case, he should allocate 50% of his budget on security for the next few years.

The typical AU soldier gets $2300 US monthly. Kenyan soldiers got an extra $1000 allowance on top of their salary due to danger pay (fighting Al-Shabab). This only came in affect after their integration into the AU.

Don`t pay any attention to the "president".
He claims to be prioritising security at the same time his kinsmen are setting up isbaro on the Xamar-Balcad road.
There is no doubt he is a Abdulqasim mark II, and his presidency will be a free for all for his clan and shadowy financiers.

Abdulqasim is one of his closest advisor's, directing the Jubbaland destabilisation activities.
We can be certain that his "presidency" will end in failure.

Original Dervish,

You need to support Sheikh Mohamud. Do you love your country? If so, give him a chance.

Taakito,

True but the EU and US are paying their salaries. No government trusts Somalia enough to give them money to fully fund their own armed forces. Most aid money has been stolen.

The "president" and Somalia are not indivisible .
Why should I support a man who is reversing years of political gains in a matter of weeks?
In a democratic society the "president" cannot be above criticism. :D  :som:

True but in a critical time as it is now, the most logical thing to do would be to support him. We are at the reconstruction and political development stage. It is time for unity. No time for political rhetoric or partisanship at this time. If you do, we will be stuck at the same spot.

The man is trying to rebuild the nation. He isn't playing politics. His four year term is about security and development. No personal agenda.

And what things has he done for you to not support him?

The SNA soldiers make roughly $150 a month. Try about 15 men and their families.

Are we discussing the same country? :?
Since he assumed the presidency he has done absolutely nothing.

The security situation in Xamar is deteriorating daily, there are isbaro springing up.
Shabelle Hoose was liberated by AMISOM months ago, and his moryaan kinsmen aka SNA have been looting, raping, and murdering the locals.

Surly you don`t expect any true Somali to support such crimes. :som:
