In an interview, he makes clear that Jubbaland is in no position to be formed now. Indeed, he highlights certain logical and reasonable hurdles that need to be overcome before any state can be formed.
He says:
1. Al shabab must be removed from the regions with peace and security prevailing.
2. There must be voice, consent, and participation from the people. Bottom up approach as opposed to top down.
3. There must be cooperation with the Federal Government as much as and more than with any other foreign political bodies.
