HARGEISA (Somalilandsun) – The former president of Galmudug regional administration in Somalia Mr. Mohamed Warsame 'Chemical' is currently in Hargeisa where he has refused to talk to the press.
Following his refusal to brief the press speculation in Somaliland is rife as Mystery continues to surround the stay in Hargeisa of former Galmudug president considering that visits by such notables is against laws of the land.
Speculations are revolving around the question of the whether the visit is official that is political or personal.
The personal aspect of speculations pertains to the known fact Mr. Chemical is a long term friend of Somaliland president Dr Ahmed Mahmud Silanyo, a friendship that started when both served as ministers in the Siyad Barre government in Mogadishu.
A past desire to visit Hargeisa by Mr Chemical then president of Galmudug failed in 2006 when he was bundled back to his plane upon arrival at Berbera airport by the government of Ex-president Dahir Rayale Kahin that maintained strict no contact policy with anything/anybody Somalia.
While speculation continues the former Siyad Barre Commerce minister Dubbed Chemical due to his resemblance of Dr Chemical of Iraq continues to enjoy the peace and good living available in Somaliland.
In 2012 two members of the Somalia parliament spent a couple of days in Hargeisa in a similar mysterious visit as the current one by Mr. Chemical.
