I heard the four imams (abu xaniifa, shaafici, maaliki, xanbali) said: "if one of us brings evidence which contradicts the majority then take the majority", so I guess each madhab is inter changeable

imam shafi'i himself changed his madhab when he moved to egypt. he saw different culture and custom. and said if you find better qool than mine dismiss mine and take it.

he was human and only bassed his madhab what evidences and his understanding if it.

hmm just little complicated, i guess.lol

the thing is, even in same madhab, some later scholars, just correct/ say there is stronger gool etc.

like ibn taimia, ibn qiyam, even though they are scholars of hanafia but they have different opinion on the madhab they follow in general.
I see thanks

It seems sunni muslim positions are based on precedent
mostly ...makes sense.

This may be a silly quetion, forgive my ignorance.
But can new madhabs be created provided of course
they had the evidence to back themselves.

I've read somewhere there were more madhabs in the past
but they died out.

abdulkareem, those spent a lot of times in research, but to be fiqeeh they put list of qualification.

some basic ones are to know science of quran, ahadeeth, history of islam and arabs costom in jahilia, their poetry and very qualified in arabic language pre- islam as the quran revealed and challenged arabs who were mastered in their language to find faults grammar and words instractures.

But later scholars, ibn yusuf, maliki scholars, ibn tamia, ibn qiyam etc, we call them mojadedeen.

there is minor sunnah madhabs too, such alash'ira, abayitha ( offical madhab in oman) etc.

good riddance to the scumbag. he wont be missed other than by fellow apostates and heretics (as evidenced by this thread).

as for that little pathetic so-called "shaykh", hyper, then it's obvious he has no idea what he's talking about. this is not a simple case of an apostate being executed - no, it's a case of an apostate spreading shirk and corrupting the deen of the muslims.

Just because Oman is a peaceful nation not in the business of exporting terrorism doesn't make them irrelevant.

LOL oman is ibadhi. It's debatable if their in the folds of Islam or not like the shia. Coming from an omani descendant.

lol they are oldest madhab of all of them. their early age galabat sitasah from fiqh tashree'a. but i really enjoy their scholars when they visit us. very pious, humble scholars.
