No shid?Today I had a conversation with one of my non Muslim friends. She said something to me which hit me deep. Even though I know it's wrong I often wear my hijab with jeans or sometimes leggings and sometimes long skirts. Today I was wearing a skirt and I was wearing a bit of make up which I don't usually wear. Anyway she kind of looks up to me coz I always lecture her and try and give her dawa and take her to juma with me and gatherings whenever I'm botheted to go. so today she asked me if she can ask me a question I said she could and she asked me why do girls wear make up with hijab? I felt like it related to me but I answered her anyway I told her we shouldn't be we do it anyway coz we're not perfect Muslims may Allah make us perfect Muslims though. Then she asked can you dress fashionably and wear a hijab I asked her what she means and she said like wear skinny jeans Wallahi I just felt so embarrassed I told her we can dress fashionably as long as its modest but can't wear skinny jeans etcc with a hijab because hijab is not just covering the hair. I felt like I was telling myself that and I just felt like a hypocrite. I know it's wrong but the only reason I do it is coz it's hard to become a complete hijabie especially when you never used to be one and if I remove my hijab I'll go back to step zero. This made me realise some things I just kept thinking about it. I think she asked me these questions on purpose

To make a baby step to improve one's self is much better, in my view, than to rush it all in one time and then fall back.
Last weekend, two senior citizens stopped me when I was in the mall. I thought they wanted to ask for direction or something similar and out of the blue they started doing some Christian dawa on me. Just by looking at me, its clear I am a Muslim but out of politeness I didn't act out of line with them so I listened for few minutes what they had to say. So, they talked how prophet Issa [Jesus] died for our sins, all the sins...blah...blah which started from the beginning of time with Adam...blah...blah. So, I asked do you believe that God is all-knowing? she said yes. So, I said that means God knew that Adam will sin and when he did so and he realized his mistake, he asked God for forgiveness. So, that is a lesson to all of us if we do something we feel is wrong you pray and ask God for forgiveness, so accordingly your statement about Jesus, I believe is wrong. I gave her a big smile and excused myself before she went back to her blah...blah.
Do not let anyone make you feel bad, just look at it as an opportunity to improve yourself to become a better Muslim.
What does this have to do with OPs problem? She's talking about a friend, not random individuals in a mall.Sis,

Thanks Navy, advise is much appreciated. It's hard to be a good Muslim in a non Muslim country tbh, that's why I plan to move out when I'm done with my things insha'Allah.
