Shouldnt qaraabo xirriris be two way street?

What i cant stand if those who point fingers when they never kept in touch. :x
No. It doesn't necessarily have to be two way street. If your qaraabo aren't good at keeping in contact with you, you should. After all, not keeping in touch with your qaraabo is a major sin.
Dad aan kusoo xiriirin si loo xiriiriyo is not easy. But waa runta.Have to do it for one`self if not for anything else.

Altho i get discouraged,i always had one Sunday afternoon in the month for qaraabo qansax 5 min phone marathon.

Qaraabo are the worst thing ever, next only to the bubonic plague. Uncles talk about Somali politics all day, and aunts gossip 24/7. On top of that a relative gets married almost every other month and I'm pressured to attend their goddamn wedding, that's like every introvert's worst kryptonite.

. Of course it's hard because some will act as if you are somehow getting paid doing it so but it has to be done. There are three types of people: Those who keep in touch with their relatives regardless of whether it goes both ways, those who keep in touch only with those who keep in touch with them and those don't keep in touch at all. Most of us are the middle option which is better than the last one.

My only eedo lives in Toronto, I call her once every two weeks or so plus I've got her kids on FB and twitter which made things much easier. Adeerayaashay though :whew: too many of them and they are scattered around the globe. I'm lucky if I get hold of one, I speak to them like once a year :(

Laakin my abtiyaal back home, I call them every week! They always got some crazy story to tell me which later results in "abti dee beryahan busaarad baa nagu yara habsatay"
The relatives I struggle to keep in contact with waa second cousins, dad or mum's cousins or uncles.

Keeping constant contact with qaraabo is a headache. You don't know where to plug the familial cord. 2nd cousins? 3rd cousins? In-laws family members, uncles and aunties in-laws. This shit is too complicated and finding a delicate balance in keeping xariiris is a headache :x

Exactly. Too many relatives in the standard Somali family tree. Anyways, just went to an aunts house I haven't gone to since maybe the middle if last year. She lives almost an hours drive. :whew:

I don't even bother, I'm just not good at keeping contact with people in general, and the longer I haven't seen them the more I don't care. I don't know how to change this habit because, I know some day I'll regret it. Like when a cousin passed away recently, and I knew close to nothing about him, had him on fb but never talked to him :(
