Korontow, any chance a site where I can get his 'Injir oo ceelka u jeeddaan arkay maantee' song, sxb?

Have been looking for that one for ages and couldn't find it.

Thank you Anarchist.

Imagine sitting on SITEEY MA NOOGTO in Dhoobow. Faarax sidoow and Kuusow Kuntur waarey are kings in Dhooboy.

I have been looking for the same song as Twist:

Injir oo ceelka u jeedaan arkey maante
cabsado umadee waan ashahaade
Aakhiro samaan aan u mudaaye

This is one of my favourites:

NAAG JINOOLE AH AYAAN JECLAADE
HA LI JIROW

NAAG JAJABANOW
JIDKA DHEXDIISA FADHISOW
LUGAHA JIIDEEYSO OO AAN JOOGSIN KARIN
jERMIGEEGA U RAAYO

blues.

@Twist - I've been looking for that song for the longest time ever now. Never found it online, will have to check local Somali record stores.

@Lamagoodle - That song was such a hit in Jilib. I remember hearing it many mornings getting ready for school. Heeso gobeleedka were always different than what was popular in Xamar. Kuusoow Kunturwaareey, Faarax Siidow, etc probably enjoyed more popularity in the Shabelles & the Jubbas, not to mention in Baay & Bakool than they did in Xamar. In Xamar you had everyone else competing for air time. Songs like these have a special meaning for me personally, I can turn them on and be transported back to a different era and it helps me overlook all the clan mayhem that continues to go on today. We're at least fortunate enough to have memories to go back for sanity's sake.

I'm sure you'll recognize this signature song. God bless Radio Muqdisho:

Anarchist, ma xaramka ayaad ku soo kortey saaxib?

Xirta sheikh Nuur Xuseen dad ma ka taqaanaa? sheraan shidaad muraad was schooled there.

It is funny saaxib; In dhooboy, it was Kusoow and Faarax Sidoow that were kings. In Bay, Bakool, all the way to Baardheere, it was Samatar who was king; Huburow, Hakaba banaanshe, etc ( Saalax Macalin Ciise is a good composer).

Ama siteey saarnow, ama xaaji khamsiin, ama makhaayadaha , you were exposed to these great songs.

In Afgooye/Jowhar, it was Aweys Khamiis who ruled.
