its not offensive to me at all - qaldaan is the term for s/lander descendants of those in 1960 who were qaldaan enough to make the BIGGEST mistake in the 20th century when somaliland made a union with savagry somalians (not including you b.v.)
Thank you but I think that was a very wadaani and sax thing to do, the events that happened after in no way tarnish the spirit of that choice. It's something all Somalis should be proud of

BV, Do you find the following names offensive for the Ex Italian Somalia people?

Koonfurian
Walanweyns
Somalian
lol not in the least

This is a dead issue. Accents are supposed to differ according to regions. It's like that all over the world including tiny states such as Holland.

'it sounds wrong' isn't going to cut it.

There is no some in that theory, you made that up yourself, sad enough to not even say it on your own, you create a mystical some to help you say it with you.

I don't know if qaldan is offensive. It doesn't sound like it. I want know the definition too.

There so many names for both groups.

BV, Do you find the following names offensive for the Ex Italian Somalia people?

Koonfurian
Walanweyns
Somalian
Why would that be offensive every Somali is refferred to as Somalian including yourself :comeon:

Koonfurian isn't offensive and I don't even know what Walanweyn means, does that mean crazy? If so yes it's offensive.

CaliG that's why I say it, that's how I understand it, for me that's what it means - so haye answer the question. Misee does it have some profound deeply offensive meaning that I don't know. Like I wouldn't say boon because I know it's supposed to be offensive but I'd say Cagdheer or Iljeex because it's no big deal. I want to know which category qaldaan falls into.

to answer your question, the word qaldaan is not offensive at all. The people who use it only use it for banter.
