Black,A/Wahab- at least they get the job done. It doesn't matter who they take orders from. The alpha group in Moqdisho are falling big time. They only come out when the damage is done. They need do preemptive strikers and target the enemy cells before they strike

There is one difference, having a cause. Is that the lies you were told ? Who were Siyaad's best informants ? Who provided Morgan with all that intel ? Snitching occurs everywhere. AS when they do come won't be stopped by kinship. They are already there and don't give a damn about kin.

as for now the main allegiance of the people is somaliland and recognition,
once this sours or is proven impossible for now they will turn to islamism.
we are fortunate that the majority of our islamists are also ironically somaliland nationalists,
but this is fragile.
i have a family member whose job is to keep tabs on these guys, he says they have files on hundreds of them many of them seasoned veterans living quietly in burco and even hargiesa, and a troubling number in lascanood and buhodle.
due to clan protection he complains that he cannot walts in there and torture them for info.
all he can do is watch them and wait for them to make a move.
he is able to do this because the general mood is against alshabab so the snitching goes against them.
in moqadishu despite all the setbacks alshabaab has allot of support, and the snitching is in their favour.
the guy that sells you groceries is alshabab, the person or 10% of the people praying jamaca with you in the mosque are alshabab, your driver is alshabab, their eyes and ears are everywhere.
my fear for somaliland is not about alshabaab,
my fear is that somaliland is ripe for an islamist revolution, the only thing keeping it at bay is Somaliland .
and this can happen overnight, and it is practically unstopable.

Abti, at the end of the day, you and I have more in common than these groups. While we bicker about policies, these fools will not hesitate to behead us if given the opportunity. There is one difference, having a cause. Is that the lies you were told ? Actually, most of the gunmen are not from Puntland itself. That's just where they do their dirty work.Hundreds of youth leave Hargeisa to join AS. At some point, they will return home and when they do, then the birds come home to roost. Look at PL, they are experiencing a flock of birds who returned home to roost.
It would of course be preferable if Somali forces were to handle all of the SFG's personal security instead of ajnabi. But as others have said, the circumstances just don't allow it.I was just watching the somali channel and that jawahiri, head of parliament was being interviewed. The interviewer half way though the conversation pointed out the ugandise soldiers protecting him inside his office. He asked him why do u have these soldiers inside your office to protect you, they couldve a least stood outside the building. The jawahiri dude got annoyed and cut the interview.
walahi it was disgusting. I didnt know the somali government is thayt low. Every minister including the president have amisom protection inside their offices when they're alone. They couldve hired their relatives to look after them instead at least they're somali...but this...?
