I think there two main failures are not settling the issue of eastern regions ( ssc specially ) and the rampant corruption that the 5 year old knows .
on the bright side Silanyo and his crew has done excellent job compared to previous admins in re engaging with the south and lifting sland a bit up from isolation .

Silanyo did a better job than Riyaale, I was kind of surprised abt the corruption allegations against Silanyo's admin and almost hard to believe.

Silanyo loves his people, that is clear to me, and that is enough.

I think he handled the situation with the Khatumo and xaglatoosiye very well, although the war in Buhoodle was a waste of time and resources. Today the Khatumo guys are confined in taleex and they form no threat at all.

As for the Foreign policy and the walanweyns that part is very sensitive talking to the walanweyns with out international arbitrators so far we haven't gained anything or lost anything talking to the walanweyns. We were not isolated before the live stock trade is ongoing relations with Ethiopia is fine., Britain and Danish aid existed way before we talked to the walanweyns. If we had talks with walanweyns where the Europeans were mediating between us and the walanweyns. Than that would be a major win. So far Dr Bidaar didnt bring anything new to the table. we went a few times to Turkey and talked about cooperating and somaliland should receive AID. we are not talking to the walanweyns because of AID , but to solve the political dispute.

Your right about kicking the crap out of the Khastumo's but they never had a chance since Faroole paralyzed them.

When it comes to Mogadishu, we really kicked the crap outta you guys, Britain is with Mogadishu and told the triangle state to fcuk off.
We now also have compete control of Somalia's airspace.
We have also been awarded a three years 2.5 billion dollar new deal program.

Mogadishu is much more important than the triangle state, the triangle state has nothing to offer Britain or any other power but we have so much to offer.

Don't get me wrong Silanyo is good but we are much better. :stylin:

they did not do enough of a good job in the sense that there is still a threat of violence breaking out once again , Buhoodle battle was disastrous and baseless
and with that said still have not achieved its goal of bringing that city back .

Emperor- we are in a very important stage of Somali politics , this Government ( SFG ) has enormous access and support in comparison to its predecessors
I think its time for Somaliland to shape up and change their tactics of politicking , they need to be more aggressive and sensible in presenting their case .
sending representatives to conference and yet denying participating it is just plain silly . mistakes we do today are gonna hunt us in 10 years time
just like the ones we committed ten years ago are hitting us hard today .

If I was Somalilands president I would advocate the Kurdistani-Iraqi kinda union .

Do you mean the old north - South federal policy, that existed in the 60s. I think we in Mogadishu would welcome that. This way Somaliland would be a winner and Mogadihsu would be a winner. This would also ensure greater independence for Somaliland whilst ensuring that Somalia stays united.

At the end of the day we have the power, it is our voice which really matters. To us the unity of Somalia is unquestionable and paramount.

Dont be fooled by the international community their commitment is with the SFG why because Somalia was in turmoil and civil war the past 22 years and because they need to reward them for ending the transition all the strides they made on the international stage were given on them on a silver plate. Their challenge are domestic affairs gaining control over the country rebuilding the institutions, defeating shabaab that will be their major challenge. Our policy always was to build our nation to build a viable democratic nation which is at peace with it self and its neighbors. Try form alliances with nations such as Kenya Ethiopia neighboring countries and the African continent as a whole. And Europe invest in trade and explore the Somaliland resources and geology. And last but not least hold talks with the walanweyns any where they want aslong as there is international mediation that was Egals policy rayaale's policy . We just now entered the last phase of the talks from a facilitating point of view , we are now heading towards finding arbitrators to settle our long dispute with walanweyns something that started in 1961. Hargeysa i know u are a unionist, and i respect that. but the vast majority of the people of Somaliland are not and we will not sell out our people and bow down for the walanweyns, like our foolish leaders did in 1960. So President ahmed siilaanyo will represent the interests of the nation which is carved in our constitution. We just need to be prepared when the talks hit the phase of mediation, we need to present our case very elegantly reasonably to the mediators and i am sure we will win.

Please understand this, we would NEVER accept Somalia to become balkinised.

If you want to build a isaac state then please do it in the Xawd but never for a second think that Somalia would tolerate small minded people to divide the nation. This is where we stand.

Ethiopia has rejected you, Kenya cannot do anything for you. The west has shunned you, in a era where large nations are merging with each other. Why would a triangle state gain a UN seat?

Emperor - you are a die hard secessionist and I respect that too , what I am trying to figure out is what goes around in the minds of people like you
do you think there is the slightest chance and prospect that these talks will climax in a deceleration of worlds newest country Somaliland . if not what
alternative viable solution do you see fit , do you think the path we took and tried is gonna be the way forward . can we give a union based on our terms
a chance .

Honestly if i was Khalid Ali, I would kill myself because he is fighting a un-winnable war. The prospects of Somaliland becoming a UN member state is very unlikely.

What Somaliland can get is better terms from Mogadishu in the old South- North deal.
