people soonka ayey badsadan these 10 days, but not neccessary you have to fast all 9 days. prophet used to fast some days and other not.

waha layiri, 3amalka fi'an badsada, soonkana 3amal ka fi'an bo ka midyahy. you can give sadaqa, read quran, help others etc. ma han only fasting.

Me and my folks have been fasting since the beginning of last week, I've missed today, I'll be fasting till EID.
