assad wasnt hostile to somalis whilst we were refugees, doesnt matter if he gave assistance only shelter and safety is required besides somalis are only gonna live in and around 2 cities only damascus and aleppo both sunni majority cities actually all of syria is 70%+ sunni
Somalis weren't refugees in Syria. Most went there for transit to other countries, their relatives in North America or Europe regularly sending remittance. Fact of matter, Assad didn't provide $1 of assistance, shelter, food, etc to any Somali. Only one thing; Somalis could enter Syria without visa. However, you have money, you can live in almost every country.

Arabman,

Hafez Assad (Allahu naxaristo) Syria was welcoming to Somalis while your Sunni lead Arab Kingdom were harsh to Somali refugees. Giving sanctuary is a noble act in its self.

The Baathist states were champions of Arab nationalism and made great progress than the backward theocracies of the Gulf. The last remaining lion is Bashar Assad and he will maul the theocratic Rasputins.

No Somali I have met complains about Syria or Assad. Laakin every somali from "sunni" arab nation complains about them. Maybe Assad didnt give them 1$ laakin they was safe from him. Where as the "sunni" arab nations they didnt give them a penny yet they was abusive to them and the police continuously harassed them and they had to pay bribes to the police.

People paying their own rent and food doesn't count as getting sanctuary from Assad. Tens thousands of Somalis do the same thing in Cairo, Aden, Mukalla, Sana'a, Nairobi, Mombasa, Dar es-Salam, Tanga, Salalah and even in Saudi Arabia (those with proper iqaamah). And FYI, tens thousands of Somalis get various types of social assistance (housing, education, monthly/yearly stipends, etc) in the Gulf countries, and you, I and many here know that.

Somalis pay bribes to the police in those countries. From the second they enter till they leave or die nothing happens without a bribe. Assad offer safety without bribes. Why cant you accept this?

Listen to these spineless sods "This leader fed us" "No, this leader sheltered us" "No this leader gave me porridge" "No this leader raxiimahullah gave me a back massage and free wifi". Absolutely no pride whatsoever. :snoop:
