As a northerner I am happy with being Somali and part of the wider arab world. My family was in Aden before Somalia existed living amongst arabs as equals and the treatment they received from there host has been a positive one and has lasted to this day. This is in comparison to the treatment Somalis received in england upon arrival. The west attitude has changed since and so have the arabs who seem to have gone backwards and lost everything that was good about them. However I dont understand people on here who have a chip on their shoulders constantly bad mouthing people who contain both good and bad people. Its unfair to brush the actions of dictators the average arab hates to the general public who are mostly good natured muslims. I have more in common with a arab than s sub-saharan african and thats me speaking for myself..
I generally agree, the Somali reputation with the Arabs was extremely good, it is only in the last 10 years the Somali reputation has gone down hill, and I blame the Rahanweyn, Hutu influx into the west and arab world, these people drag the somali name in the mud.

but I completely disagree in that Arabs are our equal, look at it whatever way you like, these people are below Somalis.
