Muq or muuq is looks or appearance as in "jaadku muuqa ayuu kaa dilaa", therefore, Muuq-disho is appearance killer. In other words, Muq-disho has killed the look and the appearance of the Somalis and at the same time provided the xabaal/grave yard for Somalia.

Mogadishu (/ˌmɒɡəˈdɪʃuː/; Somali: Muqdisho, popularly حَمَر Xamar ; Arabic: مقديشو‎ Maqadīshū; literally "The Seat of the Shah") is the largest city in Somalia and the nation's capital.

I don't think it come from maqcad shaah. The Arabic one (Maqdisho) is closer to Muqdisho, and I go along with Zamaronavich's interpretation.
