The Abyssinian Fear!

Postby guhad122 » Sat Jan 04, 2014 2:21 am

I mostly read about the Jubbaland Ogaden histories but the OGs in Ogadenia did their part in teaching the raw-meat eating Abyssinians that Somalis are not a race to mess with. Read page 46:
https://archive.org/stream/TheMadMullah ... 1/mode/2up
Quote from the book "From other accounts it would seem that the Ogaden, although only armed with spears against the rifles of the Abyssinians, penetrated the zariba in broad daylight , and recaptured all the stock the Abyssinians had looted from the rer Ali. Indeed, it would mean that, although they inflicted heavily casualties on the Ogaden, the Abyssinians were not a little impressed with the fighting abilities of the Ogaden spearman; and our Vice-Consul at Harar, writing after the engagement, reported as follows:
“The Abyssinians, it seems, fear the Somalis very much. I have never seen men so afraid as they are now; they have given rifles to the children to show they have troops here”.

The Ethiopians have never forgotten the reality of Somali's.
They work night & day to ensure....never again will a Somali people be able to challenge them.

Modern day Somali's are mostly without dignity, honour or direction.....they only focus on their immediate tribal rivals.
But hey.....you work with what you can. :D :som:

The Xabashis know all too well how to deal with Somali's.
They have no preference over one clan as opposed to another.

S/L is only supported because they're against Somali unity.
If it were the other way round and the southerners were against unity...then they would receive Xabashi support.

The Hawiye are seen, rightly or wrongly, as defenders of Somali sovereignty....that's one of the reasons Ethiopia/Kenya seek to hinder them.
Although they're doing a pretty good job f**king things up for themselves.

Not really the Xabashis do not support Somaliland or Somalia they dont make a distinction the xabashis are friends to all Somalis enemies to non except Alshabaab. Xabashis are close friends of Somalia federal government and Puntland Xabashis keep their neutrality which gives them allot of strength in the region. Xabashi never supported Jubbaland nor did they supported Xassan sheikh stance. The reason why they could mediate because they kept their neutrality. Meles zenawi was brilliant when it came to Somali tribal politics, he understood them all and their interests. Kenya wants their bufferzone in Jubbaland which gives them a foot in Somali politics only Somalis can break the Xabashi chain of strength and Kenyan chain of strength but they are not interested in that because the Somalis in Somalia and the one in Somaliland and the one in Jubbaland and Puntland and the one in Gaarisa dont share the same interest.

In your warped secessionist mind they don't share the same interest.
However, reality dictates all Somali's will not progress until there is a national political consensus to restore Somali sovereignty.
This should be clear to you after 20 years of nothingness in S/L.

Ethiopian policy toward Somalia is always designed to undermine Somali sovereignty and unity....always.
That's not to say Somali's are without blame....indeed Ethiopian machinations would be ineffective without Somali actors.

It was once said somewhere," The devil's greatest trick was to convince people he didn't exist".
Likewise, Ethiopia acting as mediator, protector, adviser & friend is a carefully crafted facade.

But hey.....you can still give them Berbera. :D :sland:

I rather have a very slow very slow progress than to have the cancerous restored the status quo is fine it cant get better but the Xabashi policy is very smart and precise make sure they remain neutral and support not one side between the warring Walanweyn factions. I would give them even advise on how to keep the status quo for aslong as possible

Khalid Ali you know this status quo is making life difficult for the average somali in Somalia and SL. You are enjoying life in Holland where you have free healthcare and benefits. The somali man your age is somaliyo does not have any of those simply because of this status quo you are talking about keeping in place. Why dont you go and live in this status that you are so enthusiastic about?
