Somalis are not building these. These Gulf countries are less likely to fund wells etc so don't blame Somalis. Its called cultural imperialism, similar to colonialism.
In conclusion building mosques is perfectly fine however other stuff should be built alongside with them. Simple solutions to the problem now calm down with your Shirk.

abdi, her accomplishments in terms of a career is nothing if she's become an atheist.
it wont help her in this life or after.

people like her is what makes Somali's 'losers'. the people that are gonna benefit from her stories are the newspapers and the anti Islamic movements.
it's these people that are using her story and she's not bright enough, at the end of the day it would be her that's gonna receive death threats, her credibility is now in shatters and so is her families, who probably kept it hidden from other people...now the whole world knows about it, and her fellow gaalos are laughing at her in making a very unwise decision to reject the true faith.
I don't know where you live, but many Somali's I know from the younger generation are accomplishing careers and are at university, I don't see them paying the atheist card for them to go far in life, they have allah.

STARKAST, majority of mosques are built by the community. Don't lie. Ive been to Somalia a few times, people alone contribute. I've seen the process. You don't know how hard it is to get Gulf funding. Speak to me in 2050 and show me any advances Somalia has made. By that time there will be more mosques than homes (huts made out of branches don't count). Its sad because its just intepretation within Sunnism thats killing the Somalis. Its not even Sunni vs Shia, forget about Christianity vs Islam. Its too bad Somalia can't be developing properly. It's the likes of you who make Somalis hopeless. People will be celebrating 1 km roads being built by foreigners in 2050 thanks to the likes of you. No one even has the skills to build those 1 KM roads to replace the foreingers because of emphasis on religion rather than more important things

Somalis can memorize a book but cant read it. They can't even write their own name.....

Most mosques in somalia are built by Arabs get that through your head even during the kacaan the mosque with oil under it in xamar is built by saudis.

However i somewhat agre with you pagan,Somalis as a whole need to understand religion alone won't get you to the top.I hope your not offended by that term, i guess its better than..

What has she done wrong Hodan? I see a beautiful woman who became a successful person, like all irreligious Somalis I know. You know its the irreligious Somalis who actually show the others that Somalis are not losers. And yes her parents must be very religious if they shunned her. Nothing more sad than to shun your own child over religious beliefs. You see how religion is a problem? I dont need to convince anyone. One visit to religion obsessed Somalia will show you the reality. Mosque building is more of a priority than providing clean tap water. More of a priority than child welfare. More of a priority than feeding the poor.

Towns of 5,000 have 50 mosques and 1 well in the outskirts which is being fought over by warring barbarians. Less mosques, more wells
