How about this, I didn't know this was actually a true story, I was listening to hadrawi talking about it, he wrote it about a girl he saw in baladweyn, and he fell in love with her, she came to one of his show, but he didn't see her ever since.

Beledweyne is probably the only somali song that 30+ somalis can sing. The lyrics were taught in Somali literature classes before our demise.

This is a song composed by, I guess Abdi Weys, who was competing with Hadraawi to become the number 1 composer of somali songs. It is sung by the great M Mooge Liiban. It mocks Hadraawi's song and asks him to verify; the events in the story.

Hadraawi came on top; Hooyo and Beledweyne made him a household name; these two songs killed Hadraawi's opponents.

Attempts by Qeys to compose a sinister song and give to Samatar ( a favourite of Hadraawi( failed. The song by Qeys concerned the greatness of the Mooge brothers.

I don't know whether there is an ounce of truth to the above, but the story goes ...
