mali prince killed it in this thread...odd, because when I lived in Dixon from 89-92, most of the Somali women's hair was uncovered and they wore colour. Now I see too many wearing the ugly, all-black attire of the Arab culture. It seems like the whole culture of music, gabaay, plays, etc, indeed the whole "Nation of Poets" identity has been abandoned in favour of Arab emulation. An Arab culture I might add, with no love lost for the African it considers beneath them. Sad...

As a sidenote, I also see many members engaging in the favourite Somali, un-Islamic pastime of judgement...Somali's judge others as if they were Allah almighty Himself...

Aren't we not a Muslim country? What is wrong with a hijab or Jilbaab? These fockers have inferior complexity. Covering yourself up is not a Arab culture but a command from Allah.

Bunch of deluding people, the reason why I hate Somalis sometimes. They suffer from identity crises, inferior complexity and cannot differentiate between Islam and Arab.

I was reading something about the politics of dress in Somalia and it said a lot of the Islamic dress came with the thought taught at foreign universities in the Arab world but the thing is, it was the same people revered as "liberal/modern" who brought these ideas into the country and as you can see, most Somalis wear it now, it's somewhat a collective choice not some imposition on everyone by the King of Saudi himself.

Somalia models are the most interesting face I've seen in recent times. I saw their pics while browsing around on Instagram and they literally made me stop in my tracks. Their faces are gorgeous,They have an intelligent mien, and their ears - which are my favourite features.- make them super unique. This is all I've been able to find.
