I have this channel called ESTV here in Kenya and almost every time I turn the TV on there is a dhaanto song. It's like they don't know anything else. They would bring news from ina Ileey @ 9:00 for 3 mins and it's back to dhaanto :dead:

Btw, I do like Dhaanto with heavy beats like those of Ali Dhaanto etc, but please bring us songs, kaban songs, ruwaayado , porn anything different

Dhaanto is a reer galbeed thing not darood perse, in fact that's a common misconception rather it was performed by Somalis that live in Ethiopia (various tribes). It's a part of mainstream Somalis now.

Every tribe in that region has their own ciyaar but, Dhaanto is an Absame ciyaar not even the whole Darood cuz they have their own ciyaar.
Now days everyone plays it and there are ciise and Dhulos singers emerging.

 In that case Zeylaci is all Gadabursi, even though others practice it. Dhaanto was initially not only a dance by Absame of Ogaden alone, although they claim to be monopolizing it, similar to how Zeylaci is not a ciyaar Gadabursi solely. There are some dances that are practiced by people according to region, and there are variations that I get.

Sophi, Yeah we dominate the thing so it's ours and no other clan comes close to OG lol but we can share Dhaanto since we have many other ciyaaro. What is Zeylaci?

 Reer Konfur dude the dance Saylaci is from Awdal [North west Somaliland]. I assume you don't know much in the way of Somali dances. Although you claim to be the sole generator of Dhaanto, with many other dances, so what are they if you mind me asking?

I just watched a saylici ciyaar, and all I could see was claping and turining lol reminds me of the Turkish derviches. There's Saar and another wild ciyaar called Diisoow played in the Jubooyinka and NFD strictly. Now those are ciyaaro with energy.

ps, Saylici is boring as fock.
