52 min in, I knew I was going to be EFF white people but didn't expect to be pissed off at the slaves themselves

There's a reason Somalis were never slaves :pacspit: die as a free man than live as a slave

Somalis are not naturally big and couldn't be able to withstand the harsh weather, workload, etc. This is why they sought after west africans

Makes you wonder, the way those slaves were mentally shackled and accepted their position, are you currently a slave of something that you don't realise is not "normal" or shouldn't be....

Conversely the question which atrocities are being committed right now that we're ignoring or watching passively. I saw a documentary on al Jazeera, people openly and proudly calling themselves Zionists and holding a parade in New York. Evil humans live in every generation.

Most slave films make the niggas out to be passive and docile.
The reality is the opposite...slaves would often revolt...killing the plantation owners and their families.

Stories like these would be better. I don't believe there is any benefit in seeing yourself as a voiceless victim

Not just that........but only able to be liberated by ole whitey.....a reoccurring theme in this genre.
The only films that get made in the mainstream have to conform to these stereotypes.

There were other Africans in the cinema so I had to suppress my laughter during this ridiculous scene where the white guy tells the slaves to clap for him while he sings the "run nigger run" song.

Jas

Is that WHY you posted the Reparations article? :)

I like 12 years of slavery. It was good acting both by Lupita and Fassbender. Both actors are extremely sexy. :eat:

Yeah right buddy, slave revolts were few and far inbetween. The oppression was too powerful.

I find it difficult to empathise with slaves.
