On the other hand, a friend of mine did marry a Somali girl. They WERE smart enough to talk about things like religious and cultural differences. For her, raising the kids as Muslims was a show stopper. He had to agree to that before they got married. They learned a lot about each others cultures before they decided to pull the trigger and get married. Everyone has their red lines (obviously for me, raising the kids with just one specific religious orientation would be a no-go). And it is important to know what those are before you get married. My friend and his Somali girl have now been happily married for over ten years.

I actually feel sorry for her, I have noticed that some non-Somali guys seem to have an unnatural fascination with Somali women which sometimes stems from the fact that they are so difficult to hook up with, rather than any deep connection, but unfortunately some dudes will try so hard until a Somali chick assumes it must be love and to some people assume love conquers all only to find out it doesn’t. It’s hard way to learn a lesson though.

p/s:Never fall in love with someone who pays way too much attention to all the superficial stuff about you, be it beauty, brains, status, exoticness a la somaliness in this case etc because soon or later they have to deal with the real you.
