I always feel guilty if I don't give money to the homeless people on the street. Especially if I'm on a red light and they're standing next to my car. I make sure to have dollar bills in my car. Do you give money to the homeless?

Yes. I'll toss them a dollar or two. One time I gave $5 to a homeless lady and the next day I saw her again on the same street corner and she had that guilty look as if she had to justify to me why she was on the corner again

Very sad. I never understand how you can be homeless though. You are given priority housing and will get food and money from the government. But I think she was sick

Yes I've never seen an Asian homeless.

I've seen Native Indians though, in MN most of the homeless people are native Americans.

Same here. They suffer from substance/alcohol abuse. The govt gives them a fat check every month and they run to the liquor store and the drug dealers

I had a class mate who's mom was Cherokee, she received a monthly 300 dollars check just because she was half Native, so imagine how much the full native gets monthly?

No, I don't feel obligated although I almost always give something, unless, in the case of some countries...there's a freaking overwhelming crowd of with arms extended. Some people hand out money to a select few in a crowd and ignore the rest, downright heartless...I can't do that.

I welcome the opportunity to compensate for my intemperate lapse in spirituality Image

I was entering the supermarket one time and there was a guy on the street with a board that says "Im lost I'm from Kent I need 10 pounds for a train ticket" I gave him around 4 pounds, and usually I have change in my pocket when i walk around so when theres a homeless person with a cup i give them money, not because I have sympathy for them which I do, but for the sake of God and fulfiling my duties.

Money doesn't solve their problems. Talk to them, find out why they're homeless.

If they're destitute, buy them a hot-meal and a drink.

I feel better buying them hot coffee or food if I know I will be in the area.

I once had extra loot on me and felt like I could part with $10. I gave him the money and he was so happy, and I felt like maybe he could actually buy a nice meal today. Continued shopping with my girlfriends, and passed by his spot again with this mofo drinking a mickey of rum. I was so angry, never gave out cash again.

Arghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh..

I hate when people say you should buy them food. First of all aint nobody got time for that. Secondly I don't care what they do with the money, as long as my conscious is clear. When I give them money I don't think about them buying alcohol or drugs with it.
