Why do Somalis weep for Arabs and not their own?

It's sad that people compare these two problems. Our problems are our own and can end whenever we see sense.

Not really Somalis have tribal problem that its self is one problem

But with Alshabaab u cant reason with Alshabaab or jihadi groups

so in large Somalis have 2 problems one is man made

No it's not. Alshabab is a Somali problem and all it takes is for those few people do give up. Its in the hands of Somali people. Iraq etc. Are are the same as Somalia, its their own stupidity which is destroying them.

As for other Muslims suffering, don't think people don't think about them.

I don't know why, I don't particularly want to be Arab or love Arabs, I know being Somali is the best, I just think it's because growing up I've been used to translating Arab suffering on the news to my parents and this had given me some affinity towards them

Our so called "love for Arabs" is nothing more than a unintended consequences of our close association with the Middle East than Asian Muslims.

Tbf i know where Abdijohnson is coming from. It's because of the Media. The Middle East is propelled way too much. Today Muslims in occupied territories in China are being told they can't fast whilst Muslims from Burma are being laid to waste in their hundreds. That gets nowhere near the same attention as a few stupid Arabs killing each other and being pay rolled by Westerners etc. The only genuine Arab nation out there which has always helped Somalia is Egypt. The Yemenis were our neighbours and we welcomed their refugees into our country when they were split between North and South (Carab Soomaali are originally from Aden and Mukallah) but how did they repay us? They supported Ethiopia against us during the Galbeed war smh.

Their countries have polarized economies, their governments on the verges of being overthrown, and their land is being desecrated by laangaab Isreal.

More Somalis have died in the Somali civil war than the entire Palestine-Israeli conflict. Not saying I don't have sympathy for them, I do but as someone else said charity starts at home. I dare anyone to show me a single picture of Palestinian children suffering from malnutrition & are starving or ones without clothes even. The last Famine in the south alone killed over 250,000 people according to the best estimates iskaba daa ee wax kale. Our people have suffered so much yet so many of us are so fixated with the Arab world conflict & their problems.

I have never in my life seen a Somali person who claims to be an Arab. This kinda stereotype I only hear of from other Bantu Africans. If you ask my grandfather if we are Arabs or if Darood is Arab, he would tell you "war naga amo Carabtu wax laa sheegtu mahan. Waxaan u sheegana Caraabtu sii aan nabi Maxamed SCW aan abtirka ugu arooronu unn lakiin Caraab maa na ahayn. Muslimiintu oo dhaan waa wada qeyska rasuulka (SCW)."

My local Somali masjid also makes dua for all parts of Somalia. We even raise money to ease the pain back home. But then again, of course many Somalis support Palestine and nothing wrong with that.

I agree with AJ, Arab-loving reaches beyond control. The priority should be our Somali people. Arab killing another Arab shouldn't be our business, as for Palestine, they should know when to stop since they can't defeat Israel with stone throwing.
