I admire reer baadiyo ppl. In all honesty reer baadiyo ppl are brave strong minded individuals with strength and courage in other words dadnima ayee leeyihiin Laughing and most of all they are qabilist.

Being qabilist isnt necessarily a bad thing. I mean I can understand why for example a cute looking xawaadle girl wishes not to marry outside her qabil. She is looking out for her own qabil and not to mention her own interest . She might reject an offer made by lets say an abgaal inorder to keep the 'good looking gene' within her qabil. In that case I would applaude her way of thinking. One can be a qabilist yet manage to treat others with respect and allow them their rights.

Am I a reer baadiyos? if reer baadiyos means a qabilist. HELL YEAH! Rolling Eyes

Give me a bloody break, clan discussion is part of out life as Somali, whether you are from a small village or a big city etc. Clan discussion is part of Somali culture, as it is even written in history tales, poetry etc. Good example being the Somali tales of dadqalato...so please save the "I’m reer magaal, thus I do not dabble in clan topics." We, as Somali have CUQdad clan, and really if we talk about it in a positive light and discusses by looking at each other difference then perhaps, we come to realize that our differences are actually minimal.
