Excavation in Sanaag unveils Pharaonic Plates from Egypt

Recently , in february 2012, an excavation was made in the north of Somalia ,in "Sanaag" of Somaliland region . by IRMAN ARCHEAOLOGY COMPANY (IRM) the team led by a Somali gemologist Mubaarak Ismail . Many statues and plates were found . These two plates of the pharaoh Tutankhamon's Portraits (reign 14th century B-C) consist of gold, metal, copper, bronze and the "bones of cows" according to the Somali Gemologist who found these glorious ancient artifacts . A concrete Legacy of the Somali Egypt-Punt's civilisation in the North Eastern of Africa .

For some reason they seem fake to me and the whole story as well. This would have been huge news if it was true.

Not surprised at all.. I believe there is more in Somaliland then only this one if searched correctly..

fake excavation as those artifacts were placed there. the artifacts themselves are not genuine. so i say to the OP:

Very suspect. 3D artistry is not known to the 2D mind of Ancient Egyptians.Plus it looks like metal work was done to get such precise & smoth lines on the metal body. Very suspect.

I agree it does look like fakery but I must say this was a work of desperation, someone should facebook mr Mubaarak Ismail

do carbon-dating on them and you'll find out that they're actually from 2011.

Tutankhamon of all Pharoahs, one of the shortest resigns and most insignificant. That itself makes it suspect.
