The Somali cabinet on Tuesday (November 18th) approved a $216 million budget for the 2015 fiscal year in addition to legislation establishing the National Independent Electoral Commission and a Boundaries and Federation Commission.

"Somalia has made huge strides towards its democratisation and the realisation of its 2016 vision in order to hold a free and fair election that same year," Deputy Prime Minister Ridwan Hirsi Mohamed said in a statement.

"The government is committed to work on the completion [of] all activities that will ensure the general elections are held in 2016," he said.

The 2015 budget allocates $216 million in government revenues and foreign aid, with the bulk of the funds directed to the security sector.

The cabinet intends to review 23 more pieces of legislation in the near future and pass them to parliament, Mohamed said.

Prime Minister Abdiweli Sheikh Ahmed presided over the cabinet meeting, the second since he ordered a reshuffle that sparked a row with President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud

His Excellence President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud will veto this budget. And then he will fire that incompetent PM.

No Deputy PM is Habar Yonis.

So far the PM has outfoxed the Hyena.
dhulmi Jadiid is over.

All the PM needs to do is lobby in KSA and convince them that Dhulmi Jadiid and Ikhwanis are from the same branch.

I have never seen a midget who disguises himself as a religious reformer and progressive person. While yet a very corrupt to the core, cunning and ruthless dictator.

He hasnt served the Hutu interest becuase hutus supported XSM in return they wanted L.Shabelle and Jubbaland.

The deputy prime minister can't be a Darood if the prime minister is Darood.

President = Hutu
Prime Minister = Darood
Speaker of the Federal Parliament = Ealaay
Thus, the Deputy PM is Dir

What do you call of farah abdulqadir addressing the copenhegan conference as the constitution and justice minister?

Amisom/AU meeting with burci xamza?

No where recognizes post- "reshuffle" ministers

The whole cabinet will come to end by next week!

Truth be told.....there are no functioning "ministries".....I doubt most of them even have offices....much less portfolios.
When the PM is eventually ousted....some folk will celebrate like it's 1999.

PS the real victory is that the aid money pipeline to Villa Somalia has been cut....indefinitely.
Let's hope Hassan Sheikh and his buddies don't become desperate and sell off the street light....USC style. :)
