Sow an action and you reap a habit; sow a habit and you reap a character; sow a character and you reap a destiny. - William James

If it be usual to be strongly impressed by things that are scarce, why are we so little impressed by virtue. Jean de La Bruyère

Socialism is a philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance, and the gospel of envy, its inherent virtue is the equal sharing of misery.
Winston Churchill

We should acquire an education where our people will become better students than their teachers. Get an education which will make our people produce jobs for self and will make our people willing and able to go do for self. Is this not the goal and aim of the many foreign students who are studying in this country? Will not these students return to their own nations and give their people the benefit of their learning? Did not Nkrumah return to Ghana to lead his people to independence with the benefit of learning he acquired here in America and elsewhere? Did not Dr. Hastings Banda return to give the benefit of his education to his people who are striving toward freedom and independence in Nyasaland? Did not Nnamdi Azikiwe of Nigeria give the benefit of his education to the upliftment and independence of his people. Does not America offer exchange scholarships to smaller, weaker and dependent foreign governments so their students will acquire knowledge to aid the people of those countries? Then why shouldn't the goal in education be the same for you and me? Why is scorn and abuse directed toward my followers and myself when we say our people should get an education which will aid, benefit and uplift our people? Any other people would consider it a lasting insult, of the worst type, to ask them to refrain from helping their people to be independent by contributing the benefit of their knowledge."

Sovlsworn - Why do you think that is so? Do you think we want to provide hand outs before we give hand ups? Or are we so "selfish" that we prefer to never look back. It kind of reminds me of the talented-tenth - black people that appear to be under the impression that success in academics, sports, entertainment, business or an honourable title make them the "chosen ones" to help their people from the comfort of their ivory tower - located in a cadan suburbs/gated communities, while they scorn and scuff about why their people that aren't doing so well simply can't help themselves. (While they don't do any ground work, or sparingly contribute funds).Just reading, 'Message to the blackman in America'.
Page 39-40, reminds me of Somalis with an education in the West selfishly/comfortably detaching themselves from Somalia.

I just want to know where you're coming from?

“If tribe does not evolve into a nation, not a nation as a nationalist, but a universal concept of a nation as advanced by the Quran and exemplified by the Prophet. Then our endeavours as Muslims become fruitless.”
- Louis Farrakhan.
Good quote but Farrakhan and Nation of Islam don't really represent our religion or faith at all.

Not even close! Their ideology has deviated so far from the real islam that it's preposterous that they even have the world Islam in Nation of Islam but I'll keep it simple. What's the first pillar of Islam? Declaring there is no god but allah and Muhammad (saws) is his messenger. Now the first part of that. Tawhid aka the oneness of god and not attributing anything to him. Now that that's clear let's look at the Nation of Islams Ideology.^Would you consider him to be out of the fold of Islam?
