Majeerteen sub-clans

Salam Alaykum Ikhwaan, Hello people of Snet

I would like to know about sub-clans of Majeerteen. Although i myself am Mj (Ali Saleban), i still am very confused with the tree of Majeerteen (too many MJ sub-clans). like everyone, i do have some knowledge, like who the 3 mahmuds are and so on but i still don't know much about my folk. So if i could get a list of the sub-clans and some information about them would be greatly appreciated. And also can i get info on Ali Salebans of Qandala please? i know they are a small clan and that Qandala is their main place. Are they wealthy? do they have any political position (ministerial posts), are they represented in the military and police of Puntland?

ali saleban were introduced to the mjs around 1942, originally they were madhibaan from the coastal villages who use to specialise in metal work. check the old oral poverty for verification

I grew up in a none tribal family. Mom and dad were to busy with life to go through step by step our tribal lineages with me and my siblings. Now I could easily ask them of Darood and MJ but I would feel a bit odd asking them as I've never asked about our tribe. That's why I've set up this thread for my fellow MJs to help me out. All I've been told is that am Darood then Harti to then Majeerteen and then finishing the chain with Ali Salebaan.

It's against the security and harmony of our people to disclose details pertaining to names in the lineage, exact location of where certain people live and so forth. I'm sure you can understand this. If your parents refuse, ask your kinfolk. Otherwise I will continue to think you're a foreigner who's doing research on us.
