How do we turn Kismayo into looking like Mugadishu/Hargeysa?

Postby JamalAddow » Wed Dec 17, 2014 4:24 pm

How do we develop Kismayo into looking like a modern city, what needs to be changed?

I know at least one thing for sure, is that people aka reer Waamo need to start buying properties in Kismayo and investing in it instead of Mugadishu. I know Kismayo is a shithole, but you gotta remember that Xamar was once a shithole aswell.

I always thought it was a question of safety, but no it is not. The problem is that the clans that live in Kismayo have not reconciled yet. In Mogadishu, subclan vs subclan war has ended and they have all admitted that is is better to live together. Same thing in Hargeisa. Kismayo is different because each clan still believes that is can dominate all the others and rule Kismayo. what needs to happen is reconciliation and understanding between all clans involved that a single clan cannot dominate, and that cooperation is needed. Ogaden, Merehan and Harti must all agree that it is better to live as brothers and equals instead of as enemies.

Its weird how Hawiye is united in Xamar and the same for Isaaq in Hargeysa, while they fight in the villages and the degmos. How do we do that? Keep qabiil and qabil orientated stuff out of Kismayo?

I'd tell you how, send the Cagdheers back to Gaarisa, and the Ilka yars to Gedo and Caabudwaaq.

I promise you Kismaayo would become better than those two places.

What do Xamar and Hargeisa have in common? No Cagdheers or Ilka yars. There is your solution.

You really need to look up what a modern city is. If anything Jubbalanders should do their best to prevent Kismayo from turning into a mini version of those two.

Hawaii are not united in Hamar. There is an outside force that's keeping peace and they have been controlling the zoo that's hamar. I would think shit will hit the fan once they leave

It's all about investing in the city's infrastructure and hospitality. Everything else will come with time.

exactly.

I don't care if Kismaayo is big or small, I care about safety, I have huge plot of land and nice big villa so I am already set for life in Kismaayo, I just hope I am not living near a city that is full of losers criminals etc.

I agree.

We don't need to have multiple Mogadishus or whatever, Somalis always want to copy, Kismaayo has always been the alternative to Mogadishu, people don't want the same thing.
