How about we rule by Sharia and dispense with representative government. No more tribes fighting over political power. Rule by the Quran and Sunnah.
Seem so simple and straightforward.

But who will be the leader?

Reer hebel will not agree to have am amir from beesha reer hebel.
A meritocratic selection process whereby applicants to Civil Service jobs have to pass an exam. No Xakim but a government of technocrats and religious scholars in a Ruling Council.

Mate your dreaming. Either You want to join Al-shabaab, because they have a similar mentality. But more extreme.
Or you just dreaming, A failed state that had not government for 24 years, uniting is a dream too far.
Somalis would never unite, even though we have the same religion, culture and language. We can't even get on, yet India has 1.2 billion people, different religions and different langauges. But everyone gets on. Somalis would never unite, ever!

BRo, it is ok, me and KTS are familiar. She is an atheist and comments from such a perspective.

KTS, we are a Muslim society, HBaaris and I are discussing things as fellow Muslims so cut us some slack.

Togdheer, are you that brainwashed that anyone who speaks the truth is Al Shabab. I mentioned what the ideal Islamic State is. Does suicide bombing come under Sharia? I think not.

i respect that and i don't mean any of my comments to come out rude, i apologize if any of you guys took offence..im just trying to explain things from my point of view...i have nothing but love for muslim people.

Good in theory...bad in practice.
Somali's will still divide along clan for the most part.
The country needs a benevolent dictator.....along the lines of Qaddafi or Castro.

You talking about the process and methods but am talking about the nature of our people.

I hear people often say lets use the qur'an which is all good, but how?

Its not attainable as things stand.

We see things through qabil tinted lenses and even the holy qur'an is not safe from such abuse.

KTS, we are probably 99 percent Sunni Muslims, atheism is an affliction that affects the diaspora. Qabil will never go away but Sharia is the best system to contain it.

Togdheer, I do not suffer fools gladly. Who is talking about reunification, nigga get a grip, my views ain't about Somaliland, Somalia, Puntland or the next BongoBongoLand. I am talking about an ideal. Get it, an ideal. Unlikely in our lifetime or even until the Mahdi turns up as we live in the times of Fitna.

As a muslim living in a non muslim, i go with the flow with all this things that contradict my religion.

thats untrue...

the over whelming majority might be muslim, but there are a number of christians and atheists around the world...also a lot of them are under cover atheists, regardless...it would be unfair to exclude your fellow somalis based on your personal beliefs...at the end of the day, regardless of your religion you all have equal right to that land

ps of course you go with the flow on foreign land as you are not the ethnic majority...you have no right to the land...but as a somali you obviously (regardless of religion) have every right and say to be angry at how your country is run and what you don't like about it.

KTS, not according to the 'constitution' of any Somali territory, if you are not a Muslim, you are next to nothing back home. It is just not a personal belief but State sanctioned discrimination of non-Muslims. There is no secularism, the only Gaal that is welcome is the one that works for aid organisation, oil companies, UN etc. A Somali Gaal is condemned back home if they choose to return and will have to accept being a second class citizen if not killed by a random Muslim who believes they are carrying out their religious duty.
