Advice for someone who is going to Mogdisho for the first time

Postby FarhanYare » Sat Feb 14, 2015 11:08 am

Which restaurants to avoid
Hurwaa, this person wants to go see family properties and where he grew up, so would you advice him to go there now
Public transport (is it safe?)
Are there any clues he should look out for interms of identifying possible suspects?

Just saw this now.

You can go anywhere in Mogadishu and public transport is the safest mode to get around the city.

Don't act like a suspect and you won't be treated like one. Chill out and treat ppl the way they treat you. Don't curse at NISA or military uniformed men or you will get your teeth knocked out. That's my 25 cents.

Haven't been back there since I left after the war, but be careful and have fun. Take lots of pictures.

And as far as Restaurants and where to eat and all that, well talk to our resident expert....BnW, he can probably give you some pointers.

Thank you to both of you. The dude got there safe and sound, apart from a few hick-ups, he is enjoying Xamar
