People of Snet I need your help urgently

Postby JamalAddow » Mon Mar 02, 2015 7:05 am

Basically my uni's Somali soc is having a Culture week at the end of March which I'm in charge of, and one our days we've allocated to a Speaker to come in and talk about their niche(Somali history/lang/or whatever).

I need suggestions for speakers from the UK, pls any suggestions would be great.

Any suggestions for poets and writer-type would be great like authors and shit.

And I know I'm really late with this but I'm trying to change from my procrastination ways.

  @ liquidhydrogen

I remember one year in high school these Somali girls did niiko for the cultural festival and wallahi it was some embarrassing ass shit :snoop:

It was a time I didn't really know much about Somali culture and only knew the saylici dance as the only Somali dance. I'm watching them like :wtf: why are they passing off African booty dancing as a Somali dance?

The school administration was in an uproar and they banned It.

Niiko is part of the .5 culture, we respect our minorities dirty dancing. we have goobile, dhaanto, shirib etc and other lamagoodle things. Tell me something unique that stands out in "ur" culture. I doubt susan or bob in the audience can tell the difference lmao

If u need someone to come and give a speech, why don't you just ask around or call people? I am sure it wouldn't be hard given you live in London.
