The only thing burco beats Hargeisa in is size of their roads. They're so wide and there is hardly any traffic in the videos I see of burco.
In the future Hargeisa is going to need to bulldoze through out the whole city to make room for two or three lane roads.

Burco seems to have much better urban planning than Hargeisa, from the video it looks pretty organized unlike the concrete jungle that is of H-town

I couldn't watch more than 30 secs of that. The only thing that looks half decent are the roads. Everything else looks like a typical oversized somali shithole.

The guy's name is Abdulmallik and he is a well known civic activist, promoter of afsomali and carabi peots, have so many educational and cultural activities in Somaliland.

he even made a report on Somaliland for BBC Arabic.

In Burco since 2007 they've removed the small shops set up by poor people in the neighborhoods that take up space for future housing areas and roads and they moved the shops towards the city center. I don't know if the goal is to create open bazaars in the future but for now the local government rents out space for a cheap amount.

Maxamed Muraad and the former mayor was Maxamuud Dhegalab.

Both were local guys and they've done a good job.

I could never have guessed burco turn out to b like that ..never went back ever since they threw rocks at me for having a female in my car..that was 8 years ago
