Speaking of xagbaad/ayuuto

Postby EvolSyawla » Tue Apr 14, 2015 4:39 pm

What the heck is the point?

I was in a small one once, putting in $500/monthly among 12 women.

Was the most stressful thing of my life. I asked for my month to be November (birthday month) and what was the point? All year I was paying in $500, only to cash out my own savings in November (minus $500 that I needed to pay the last lady in December anyways)...

I am very happy with a savings account, and zero stress. :|

Is it just a lending thing? Because clearly the other members don't need it if they are able to contribute monthly...

Are you in one? Have been in one?

Over here it is mainly used by old/middle aged Somali women who are defrauding the welfare system by saving most of their dole in cash while living with their husband who works which they didnt declare.

Some people can't save on their own without the accountability of a hagbad. It's most beneficial to either go first or last in my opinion. Going first is like getting an interest free loan. Going last gives u a nice lumpsome of savings.

Maybe because I don't like feeling like it is an involuntary thing. You're right, some people can't save on their own...or pay on time.

There was one woman who didn't pay till near the middle of the month, and everyone was going ham on her. It was kind of sad.

First...hmmm...

lol @ Itrah, really? Women use it to defraud? No...Seems too simple.

Yeah like it was said, an interest free loan or when you are someone who doesn't have the discipline to save

It serves a purpose I suppose but I think I'd find it less stressful to just get a regular loan from the bank

My sister joined a hagbad in my town (legitimately for discipline) and she found out about the fraud that is going on among these old Somali women. They don't work and yet are able to save like 900 euros each month. Just very fishy.

Hagbad is the best thing ever. I was not a fan of hagbad until 2011 bahasha magaceed ayaan xataa necbaa. But when my family explained a lot about it, I really loved it. You will not find free cash without interest/ribaa, haddaad u baahato but with hagbad you can do it at anytime.

In the last 3 years and six months I have saved £80,000 with Hagbad.

I have never joined hagbad but I like it. Most of the businesses & tall buildings back home is money raised via hagbad.

£80000? :whew:

How much were you paying in?

Well done

£2500 is a lot money to pay a month. I want to join one for a £1000 a month maybe?. Still I have to sacrifice a lot to give that to ayuuto.

What if you fail to pay or get sick or kicked frm work? :dwill:

If you are paying all alone I mean by yourself it's better to pay between £500-£1000 and that's only if you have a good job with fantastic salary. Otherwise you will need in lagula qabto bahasha your family can help you about that.

£500 is reasonable amount to start with Hagbad.

Waar waxaad u baahan tahay qof aad garanayso oo hagbad haya oo aamin ah ama qof jaarka ah oo aad aqoon fiican isu leedihiin.

inta badan Soomaalida dukaamada leh ayaa hagbada qabta.
