What about her children? Are they fathered by a Somali husband? Is her current husband a Somali as well? I just want to make sure we have more facts about her!

If women want to seize power in Somalia, they need to do their home work and have a full representation in parliament. They also need to have full presence in media and own some of the media channels.

They should also understand the Islamic rules on women leading a country, and while Somalis not fully practice Islam, they are still Muslims, and I am not sure if the time is right for a Somali woman to lead a fractured society like the Somalis are today.

Anyhow, good luck to the lady. It will at least make the Somalis hear the voices of concerned Somalis to the predicament that we have been in for 2 decades and a half!

I repeat the Walawayns only hope and they are trying to defame her and threaten her. Making her president would give them the upperhand, but they have peas for brains.

Am very curious about this lady, she said that her father was a runaway slave and her mother a nomad. Tolow maxey ka wadaa, she looks ethnic Somali when I look at her, maybe a little dark but she has the basic features. Is it possible, assuming she's telling the truth ofcourse, that her runaway slave father was not bantu :lupe: If his Bantu, she sure did turn out looking very ethnic Somali, perhaps her nomad mother was very light skin. lol
I don't think she looks somali. Kenyan maybe. She could pass for haawiye slightly.
Lol funny you say that she looks exactly like this MJ family friend of ours. And she looks pretty ethnic Somali to me.

I BeyondQabil fully support her. The problem though is that she's going to head a country that has been our nemesis and constantly vexatious. People will always blame her Kenyaness whenever there is a problem with Somalia. I've lost count of the number of times on youtube where Somalian girls acting silly on youtube brings out the anti-kenya e-warriors.

I hope she converts to Christianity

Somaliman% was right she is not fully Somali , her dad is half bantu from his mothers side . In this video at 0:35 mins she says "her grandfather married a slave , who was from a tribe(jareers) who are considered Sub humans by Somalis".

she could be the first Female/quarter bantu president of Somalia.

In my opinion, somalis (i mean those who stayed back) must add a clause to the their constitution clearly indicating "no political office for all of those who didn't spend last ten years continuously in the country".

Somalia became a dumping ground for political thrill seekers with western passports or middle east residence in their back pockets. How can you think of going and ruling a country you know nothing about? Looking for a political office? Charity starts at home - start with the local elections...

Waryaa, indeed that is one of the many reasons many of Somalia's previous and current leaders have failed. Although I wouldn't set the bar as high as 10 years. Fadumo Dayyib has a good heart and even though I'd love for her to win. She doesn't really have the qualifications to rule Somalia, but this will open a gate for many Somali women even back home to try and run for presidency next time.
