Ina Adeer, you just invented a new word "Somalian" for Somalis like you and me. I used to hear (still do) from foreigners who didn't know the individual is called Somali rather than "Somalian". Check my second post in this thread. I posted a book (free online to read) that challenges the myths we were fed to believe of who is an "ethnic Somali" and who isn't. Ina Adeer, read it and expand your understanding of "other Somalis". Celebrating Diversity and the acceptance of all Somalis as one equal society can only free us from the ignorance we were buried in for centuries. Equality and respect to one another are the key words missing from our narrative of Somali-ness. See where we are now?
Somalian is not incorrect. It is an actual English word and means ''a national from the Republic of Somalia''.

Jareerweyne are Somalian, but NOT Somali.

Somalis in London are British, but NOT English.

Machiavelli 2, sxb these guys will never change their ignorant ways no matter how much you informed them, their false narrative of Somalinimo is deeply impeded in their bones we only have hope for the next generation.
Loll @ Somalian..
Next they will start calling themselves Somalish.

As for the topic, good luck to the brother and I am sure will learn from his mistakes and become the wiser because of it.

Ina Adeer, thanks but as long as we respect one another and not insult each other for our divergence of opinions, it's cool. You are right, we have been brainwashed to believe our ancestors came on boat, climbed a tree scared of the locals and married a native girl. Even if one believes that mythological narrative, what makes them indigenous to the land and not the Jareerweeyne who always lived in the riverine areas or the Bantu Somalis who lived in Somalia for centuries? Waa sheeko geeljirre. Check that free online book I posted, " The Bantu-Jareerweeyne Somalis: Unearthing Apartheid in the Horn of Africa.

lol@Somalian

Good luck to brother Feruz Islam and we appreciate him if he chooses to play for Somalia.

The CIA has only Hawiye, Darod, Isak, Dir, Raxanweyn classified as Somali.
According to CIA who are much smarter than you, the Jareerweyne are not classed as Somali!

There was a video of him speaking Somali at some Somali function from couple of years ago. He made a huge mistake joining that joke of club Chelsea. Joining Chelsea is a career suicide for young talented footballers.

Ina Adeer, waynu ogsoonahay inaanu kala daadsanahay, laakiin dhul Nimco iyo qeeyr leh baanu leenahay. Sidaa darteed, waxaa loo baahanyahay nin geesi ah Feruz oo kale who can once again binds us together for the common good of the people and Mother country. Courageous people like him are those who make history and shall be considered as heroes in the future. Imagine isaga and few other young good Somali players representing us and they are on the verge of World Cup qualification playing against Ethiopia? Every Somali will be screaming and supporting them. They would have given us hope for unity and for a brighter future. We have one of the best country in the world that is searching its people to overcome their divisions and Inshallah, with young courageous people and others like him guiding us in every aspect of our lives, we will overcome our bleak plight. Let us not loose hope Ina Adeer.

Ina Adeer, Wallee waad iga qosliisey. Tan labaad, we shouldn't be reliant on governments inay ummadda Soomaalida isu keenaan. We should build from bottom up, people to people contact, so our imagined cabsida aanu isu qabno to evaporate. Soomaalida dad Iska jecel ma jidho, we will drop everything to help a needy fellow Somali in a strange country. Sport is one major factor that unites a nation and if we had good ball players who can seriously challenge other countries, it will be something that can lift our morality collectively as Somalis and may encourage us to see one another as real brothers and sisters who only need to clear up their misunderstanding. Every Somali I know gets behind Mo Farah because he gives us back our lost heeybad as Soomaalis. Marka Ina Adeer, don't loose hope or wait Somali politicians to lead us into understanding one another.

Inaa Lilaahi Wa Inaa Illeeyhi Raajicuun. Ina Adeer, habaarku waa maxay, sow tan ay Laughterpool Ka ciyaarayaan Singapore Premier League, Ma anigaa waqti u hayaa? Tolkeeyga waa Vaan Gaal iyo mucjisada loo yaqaan, Man U. Allow dhoor Man U.
