That is true to some extent, Marehan may not be as large as Ogaden, but they cover quite some territory. Compare to MJ who are found in one contiguous plot of land.Marehan is the most spread out clan.
Libaan Southern Ethiopia
Galbeed
Gedo
Jubbas
Galgaduud
NFD
One minute You'll hear about Marehan warring with Garre, etc. in Kenya, the next, HG in Galgaduud, the next Ogaden in Jubbas, Oromos in Southern Ethiopia, then MJ (Bicidyahan) in Galbeed. Most other clans are confined to specific regions.

Did u pull this ish from ur arse...there are more reer Hassan in Libaan zone than in Somalia..and who the eff are boraan..the laangaab gudhus?Bro, Garre split strictly into two parts, Tuf and Quranyow. Tuf are neither Hawiye or Raxanweyn. They are related to Galjeecel and Degoodis in belonging to Gardheere Samaale according to their oral history. Quranyow (religious nickname) Maxamed Xiniftere Maha Dir was a Wadaad who married Tufs daughter and that is how the two became alligned. Gunther Schlee did a lot of research on the Garres and his findings also support their oral abtirsi. Only in the South do they come under the Raxanweyn confederation due to their isolation from other Garres and assimilation into the Digil umbrella. The Garres in Mandheera district are mostly Quranyow whilst the ones in Moyaale/Marsabit are Tuf.Gobolka Liibaan
Big players: Degodia, Garre , Gurre (Dir) and Marexaan.
Garre is confederation , some are Quranyow Mahe Dir, some are Raxanweyn and some are Hawiye.

The following is an abtirsi submitted to James Dahl by a Digil Garre Quranyow individual.

The majority clans in Liben Zone are Garre and Degoodi like Armaan stated but you have a minority of Mareexan, Garrimari, Gurre and other smaller clans. The Mareexan Rer Xassan and Gurre in Liben Zone were displaced from Negelle by the Boran and most Reer Xassans have crossed the border into Gedo; they now dominate Luuq town. The Gurres have also migrated in large numbers to their exclusive woredas in Guradamole and Goro Bekeksa in Afdher Zone. Gurres are actually a subclan of Akisho.
Marsin is right in highlighting that Mareexans also have deegans in Shilabo Woreda.
Mareehan iyo hg isku facmahaan sxb. probably same size as cayr. Habargidir is nearly the same size as abgaal marka hadaad mareexaan tiri habargidir bey isku facyihiin essentially u said mareexan and abgal are same size

Rooble
Apart from the Northern clans, the rest of the Dir did not really seek sanctuary in the West. The Gurgura, Gurre, Garire, Bajamal, Quranyoow are rarely found in the West for instance.

My subclan of MJ is probably the same size as Gadabursi. Forget about Gaalkacyo iyo Borama, tell me one Gadabursi town as large as BurtinleXamud with all due respect that difference between MJ and Gadabursi ain't that large. Forget even about Ciise.
Awbare Woreda has a population of approximately 350, 000 and Awdal has a population that exceeds 600, 000 according to the latest UN estimate for Somali provinces. Combined with their significant presence in Djibouti and Shinile Zone, they are not that far off a million.
