Epic shame for Somalis.

Ethiopia keeps on developing, while Somalia is still barbaric.

The most interesting part in my opinion is all the other infrastructure being bundled along with the light rail. Lots of roads, electric cable lines, dams, geothermal stations and other power plants were developed in tandem with the light rail. Several of these development projects will continue, including lines to Djibouti to move electricity and goods to the east of the country's main port.

Ethiopia: More Than 205 Kilometer of Cable Installed for AA-LRT

The Addis Ababa Light Rail Transit (AA-LRT) has thus far instated more than 205 km of underground cable for the light rail transit, Fana Broadcasting Corporate (FBC) reported.

450 km of underground power cable is needed for the 32 km electrified light rail transit.

According to Eng. Demisew Zeleke, Project’s Manager, four sub-stations that provide power to the light rail were built at Kality, Ayat, Torhailoch and Menelik square areas.

The sub-stations will start operation after installation of the 450 km of cable is completed, Demisew said.
The Addis Ababa Light Rail Transit started its trail operation in February 2015.
