Ethiopia: More Than 205 Kilometer of Cable Installed for AA-LRT

The Addis Ababa Light Rail Transit (AA-LRT) has thus far instated more than 205 km of underground cable for the light rail transit, Fana Broadcasting Corporate (FBC) reported.
450 km of underground power cable is needed for the 32 km electrified light rail transit.
According to Eng. Demisew Zeleke, Project’s Manager, four sub-stations that provide power to the light rail were built at Kality, Ayat, Torhailoch and Menelik square areas.
The sub-stations will start operation after installation of the 450 km of cable is completed, Demisew said.
The Addis Ababa Light Rail Transit started its trail operation in February 2015.
