Mahe Dir- ( Biimaal, Surre, Isaaq,Dabruube, Barsuuq, Magaadle, Quranyow-Garre etc.)
Madaxweyne Dir - Gurgura, Akisho(Gurre), Gariire , Jarso, Jiido , Layiile, Aw-Siciid , Warday etc.
Madoobe Dir - (Ciise etc.)
Mandaluug Dir - (Gadabuursi and many Mandaluug in Ethiopia, Somalia, Kenya. I heard about Isaaq, Axmed, Xassan, Xussein, Jire, Geelwaaqle, Irable, Masalaley, all Mandaluugs.

There are some cases that say there was a fifth son named Qaldho(Noole iyo qaar kale Afrata Qaaluu) and that Mandaluug falls under Mahe.

Dir waa naaynays and his real name is Abubakar

I wanted to write a piece, but copy pasta is easier.

Garre split strictly into two parts, Tuf and Quranyow. Tuf are neither Hawiye or Raxanweyn. They are related to Galjeecel and Degoodis in belonging to Gardheere Samaale according to their oral history. Quranyow (religious nickname) Maxamed Xiniftere Mahe Dir was a Wadaad who married Tufs daughter and that is how the two became alligned. Gunther Schlee did a lot of research on the Garres and his findings also support their oral abtirsi. Only in the South do they come under the Raxanweyn confederation due to their isolation from other Garres and assimilation into the Digil umbrella. The Garres in Mandheera district are mostly Quranyow whilst the ones in Moyaale/Marsabit are Tuf.

The following is an abtirsi submitted to James Dahl by a Digil Garre Quranyow individual.

The Garre is a confederation, Somalis don't forget their abtirsi. Also you have Dirs in the Sheekhaal confederation too.

and where is isaaq from dir?

the last time I checked it said isaaq is a clan that goes under the big tree of dir tribe.

Clan tree:

The following listing is taken from the World Bank's Conflict in Somalia: Drivers and Dynamics from 2005 and the United Kingdom's Home Officepublication, Somalia Assessment 2001.

Dir:

Gadabuursi (Gadabursi)
Biinaal
Issa
Isaaq

In the north and south and central part of Somalia the World Bank shows the following clan tree:

Dir:

Isaaq
Garhajis
Habar Je'lo
Habar Awal
Habar Tol (yonis)

Gadabursi

Isse

Biyomal
Gadsan
Qubeys
Abdalla

Yes Dir scholars identify Isaaq Axmed Maxamed (Sheikh Isaaq) as the grandson of Maxamed Xanaftire Mahe. It is important to note though that I have never met an Isaaq that agrees with this identification.

We're a stand alone confederation/tribe with its genuine dynamic .History old an contemporary has proven it .
It has always been the most DIVIDED somalis that had grouped us where we don't really belong .

In French we say " les chien aboient et la caravane passe" ....the dogs bark but the caravan moves on

Yes Dir scholars identify Isaaq Axmed Maxamed (Sheikh Isaaq) as the grandson of Maxamed Xanaftire Mahe. It is important to note though that I have never met an Isaaq that agrees with this identification.

Those scholars are mostly those who did their research in the south. The southern Dir has this obsession with Isaaq been one of them, but most scholars from the north and the Isaaq in general and historically never linked Sheekh Isxaaq with Dir or any other African tribes, even the Ba-Alawi ( the Arabs in Mogadisho who claim decent from Ali) scholars never associate sheikh Isxaaq with the southern Dir.

So this is a case of mistaken identity an honest one from the southern Dir but a political one from the Daarood and Hawiye , for the later to include Isaaq within the Dir clan thus rendering Isaaqs as a mere sub clan of Dir will make Isaaq technically a minor clan.

It is probably true.

Dir are haplogroup T1a carriers.

And the only other Somali clan that has a lot of T1a are the Isaaq, which looks like they are of Dir origin. At least most of them, though not all.

There could very well be more T1a carrier in your daarood majeerten subgroup { which is what you appear to be },as well as my Isaaq habar awal subgroup than the ones who've been sampled so far among the HY .
You're talking pure non-sense man

Here is my equally factually unreliable statement
23andme has an agenda in further slowing down the "balkanisation " of the Somali peninsula by attempting to prove a common kinship among animals of a different pedigree

dumb dooros !

Sahan you are a paranoid dwarf who thinks too highly of himself. What position do Somalis hold in this globe that 23andme would fabricate results. Do they hold position of power? They don't even hold high positions in East Africa and that will continue with numbskulls like you. In fact the balkanization of the Somali peninsula will only benefit non Somali's. This is ridiculous.
