Ethiopia about to start exporting natural gas from the Somali region

Postby Lancer » Sat Oct 03, 2015 7:04 am

http://www.usnews.com/news/business/art ... to-5-years

ADDIS ABABA, Ethiopia (AP) — A government official in Ethiopia says his country will begin exporting natural gas in three to five years following the discovery of huge reserves in the country's Somali region.

Ethiopian Mines Minister Tolossa Shagi said Friday the country expects to make in excess of $1 billion in annual foreign exchange earnings from gas exports.

Tolossa said a Chinese company has discovered 4.7 trillion cubic feet of natural gas and that the country will start exporting gas after satisfying local demand.

He said security has been beefed up to avoid an attack similar to a 2007 incident in which 65 Ethiopian and nine Chinese oil and gas workers were killed by suspected rebels operating in the region.

The roads in the Ogaden are 100 times better than those in Somalia. So at least they are getting something for in return.

Waryaada lets start a Dismantle Ethiopia Association. There are many ways we can fuck up Ethiopia and its economy. We can also cause a rift between Oromo iyo Habeshada, specially the Muslim Oromo.

Somali DEA, one thing Somalis agree on is that Ethiopia needs to be destroyed, there can't be two Kings in the Horn, one will always be the bitch.

ina illey and his dabaqoodi shortsighted ogadens distroyed them. they convinced stupids and greedy ones that ethiopia is better for them than being with somalia!

you cannot believe, the amount of hate you hear from regular ogaden toward somalis and somalia ! they were shocked when i insisted, i am somali and somalis in somalia closed to me than freaking dabaqoodi that share tribe with them.

disgusting, dadki wey daqan rogmaden! mentality of some somalis ; instead clan x and y gets anything , let ethiopia get it. the think worse enemy to them is another somali from different tribe, sub clan, sub sub clan.

When will Oromos wake up from centuries-old stupor and claim the mantle of leadership from Amhara and Tigrays? And when will Somalis in Somali Region speak with unified voice and fight off invaders of our lands?

I would support financially any group that ensures no exploitation of Somali Region by foreigners, including Amhara and Tigrays. I would support to the tune of hundreds of thousands of dollars (walahi I have the means) to any group that represents all Somalis in the region to voice against TPLF and others who deny our basic human and civil rights --- that is a promise.

the problem isnt that only, each tribe hate the other... they do not trust each other and as much they trust ethiopian. they go and complain each other to addiss (the tribal leaders). they think ethiopia care somali oppressing another somali! if they had same chance they would do it.

so i do not buy any groups fake nationalist or somalinimo. deep down they all same, their God is their qabiil.

It doesn't matter who has more gas, Exporting from East African will not be viable in a decade or two.

Oil and gas prices have been plummeting for a couple of years.
Somalis are Johnny-come-lately and missed the boom.

Two decades later and we don't even need dinosaur juice anymore while Zoomalis are still fighting.
