That Somalia or Somalis do not matter, end of discussion. The biggest superpowers, richest regions in the world are waist deep entangled in Syria even if they have their own interests. With Somalia its like they're that ugly girl that:

A) Nobody wants to talk to at the Party
B) Is a druggie and destructive to Herself

You have many Country's in the world who are also ugly yet at least have some respect for themselves.

Maybe nobody gives fuck about Gedo, but I assure you this; Somalia is situated in one of the most strategic locations on Earth.

Somalia is one of the most important regions out there and has gotten far more attention than it deserves for its size and population. Anybody who thinks otherwise is deluded.

Firstly, why should you rely on other nations to fix your problems for you? The less foreign involvement in Somalia's affairs, the better.

Secondly, Somalia is one of the most strategic locations on earth. It also has a lot of natural resources.

Russia and the US are fighting over Syria because Syria is located near the caucausus, Turkey, Iran, Israel, Iraq and Saudi Arabia. Everyone of those countries his different aims and allegiances. It is a political and military quagmire. You honestly want all those countries involved in Somalia?

You are also mistaken in assuming that the major powers want to fix the problems in Syria and Iraq, rather just keep the status quo and impose their own puppets onto the people of the region.

In the HOA, you have Ethiopia and Kenya - both Western stooges. The situation there is more under control from a western/US point of view.

But don't let facts get in the way of your self-loathing and insecurities.

For one I wasn't lamenting the fact that We are unfortunate for not having those Countrys in our business. I specifically stated that they were 'interest driven'. That said I was using it as an illustration. It is not the location as You say. There is a reason why Places like Congo, South Sudan deep in Sub Saharan Africa have UN peacekeepers while You have nothing but retrograde Ethiopians, AU, Kenya, etc telling You what to do. I'm sorry but if You do not selve loathe and hate Your situation as a Somalo then You are not very intelligent. I don't know of You look around You but the average Somali at the coffeeshop could use some self loathing that would take Him off His high horse, off His ass and trying to fix His countrys situation.

Self-loathing? No. We don't need that. We certainly need self-criticism and objectivity. But most Somalis, including yourself it seems, are unable to separate their emotions from reality and think with a level head.

As for UN peacekeepers, what do you think happened in the 90s? Also last time I checked, it was Somalis like Abdillahi Yusuf, Sheikh Shariif and Hasan qoslaaye who invited the AU/Ethiopians troops into Somalia.

Okay, I guess there is nothing to loathe about Somalia's situation You're actually right. Did You read today How a failed State like Yemen of all people is being indicted on illegal fishing on Somali waters? Where is Your Navy, Coast Guard?

If that happened in somslia there wouldnt be anyone left after all the airstriked that different countries r planning each day.

You are right but remember in Syria the two fighting sides have two different goals. Assad wants to remain in power and be in an alliance with Russia and Iran. FSA wants US and nato nations plus their arab allias. However in Somali all fighting sides ultimate goals is a UN seat and happily be under Ethiopian control. What I find amazing is how not 1 political figure talks negatively about Ethiopia and UN's nicolas kay meddling. It seems all they want is to win all against other somali but accept that they will still remain accountable to Gabre and Nicolas kay. Russia would find it difficult to penetrate somali politics in this climate.

If we had a side that was the complete opposite, it would be easier for russia and china to pay and arm so they can continue their rebbelion. The idea that a foreign nation will pick us up from the dirt, feed us, arm us and secure our sovereignty is absurd. We have to try something ourselves and other nations that are opposed to british and american domination might like it and back us.

The hypocrisy of the thread starter is quite rich. OP, do you not remember this thread you started? The reason why no one cares about Somalia is because there is no such thing as "Somalia". That entity imploded back in 1991 thanks to the efforts of your own kinsman and other players. Boon foqol boon. Worry about your own kinsmen and their plight and woes in Gedo and Caabuudwaq. You can't talk about Somalia in a nationalist manner while fully supporting federalism. You either must have an unimaginable level of cognitive dissonance that needs to be addressed or you're a troll. Personally I lean towards the latter.

Murax I believe Caadan nations will exploit Somalia more than ethiopia and kenya will. These two nations are nothing but dogs on chains which they set loose when people or organizations fight back. People give Ethiopia and kenya too much credit laakin they nothing. You only have to look at how Kenya's president was put on trial at the Hague. They are also on their last warning just like we are. But ethiopia seems to be more respected, I dont know why.
