Jabuutawi you seem genuinely curious so I will happily answer your question. Yes Barawaanis are cadcads too. I am 3/4 Xamari and 1/4 Barawaani. There are many different cadcad clans and we all know each other, most clans are small but if you combine all of them they would still be less than 0.5 of Somalia's population probably. Not all cadcads are Arab. some are Persian (like my mums said DNA R1a), Arab (like my dads side J1), Portuguese (who are mostly from Baraawa), Indians, Greek (I only heard of one such tribe) and Italians. As for the reason why we came to Somalia, I believe it was to spread Islam. One recent example is Shaykh Sufi, following in the footsteps of his ancestors who is from my grandmothers tribe and they trace their lineage to Uthman ibn Muhammad ibm Abdulrahman ibn Awf, very known and respected family amongst minorities. Yes we are a singular group from different backgrounds but usually intermarry amongst ourselves (hence how I'm Arab and Persian). Our status is Somalia has diminished as we were once rulers of Mugadishu and during the war most left Somalia as we were weak and small in number. Our women were raped and our property looted. Hence why I was born in Yemen. We went from owning majority of the lands to not even an area to our name, not even xamarweyne. We have become very poor, my great grandfather was chased out of Somalia and he was top 5 richest (no exaggeration). He had owned a wholesaler for housing materials. Many of us are financially challenged and even homeless as the cost of living sky rockets. We pay around $500 a month for renting houses in areas like Xamarweyne, houses that we once owned strangely. For those who are disrespecting us, please stop as it could be that due to my ancestors your ancestors became Muslims. That doesn't make us superior, I love the fact that we are a Muslim majority.

I have always found it fascinating how they ended up with the best land in Somalia...They settled in the most fertile area with the two only rivers in Somalia while some Somali clans ended in the desert arid regions. Even with the Cadcads and Barwanis, they have settled in good coastal areas.

Speaking of Cad cadka, the ones I have met were alright, more Somali than you would initially expect. The girls are most of the time quite good looking and well spoken. Never met an cad cad hood chick! Their culture is quite peculiar, also, they have conflicting feelings about being Somali, specially the ones who grew up in the west. They get offended if you tell them that they are not native Somalis, and have only been in Somalia for the last view centuries, while at same time deep down they never see themselves as Somalis, some of them claim that they have European ancestors in them, therefore are of European stock. Somali men have intense jealousy of cadcad men

Literally Somali men with Michelle Obama's skin color are considered light in Somali which is sad. Dark skin Somali men (aka 99.5% of Somali men) always get so insecure when a cadcad walks by him. We only get offended because you can't expect us to accept other people's comments about us not contributing anything to Somalia. I wouldn't get offended if I was told I wasn't British because in reality I have nothing to do with it. However, if someone tries to tell me that I have nothing to do with Somalia, specifically Xamar, even though we built it or even founded it then I will be semi-offended. Mogudishu is made up of the Arabic word Maq'ad which means seat and Shah which is Persian for king. We are not even a threat to Somalis we are too small in number to be LOL yet we are attacked. We are not holding positions of government or anything influential besides Islamic scholarship and we are content with that. My tribe I estimate has no more than 2000 left in Somalia. Barawa people are Swahilis , ergo bantu mixed hybrid arabs who speak swahili language , they came through he zanzibari slave trade in the 19th century. basicall zanzibaris that came to stay in somalia for business purposes since we traded bantu slaves with them.
