Iran seizes smuggled gasoil bound to Somalia

Postby gulaid111 » Mon Jan 18, 2016 10:52 am

Coastguards of the National Iranian Oil Products Distribution Company (NIOPDC) seized an fishing dhow under Indian flag which was smuggling 400,000 liters of gasoil bound to Somalia and confiscated the makeshift vessel’s cargo, said director of NIOPDC office in southeastern Chahbahar Port.
“An India dhow which had loaded about 400,000 liters of gasoil from a terminal in Hormozgan and was bound to Somalia was seized by the Coastguard Unit and confiscated,” Abdollah Giti-Manesh told Shana on Monday.

The confiscated fuel was transferred to a local oil storage facility, he added.

One, probably never happened. Two, in the unlikely situation that they captured this boat it was not bound for Somalia. You guy's might not know this but Iran are really pissed that they got ordered out of Mogadishu. They've been making fun of Somalis for days which means their pride was hurt.

wait is this even real?
if it is then its more of an anti-corruption program than spiting somalia.
Iran has a shortage of petroleum products because its refineries are old and sanctions prevented them from upgrading them, or building new ones.
Iran imports allot of gasoil,

so why allow exports?

:snoop:

Muqdisho doesn't understand Politics or Economics. You trade and keep diplomatic ties open with everyone to benefit your nation.

These idiots sold the Somali economy to the Arabs for a meager $50 million :comeon:

Most petroleum products imported into Somalia are substandard.
A typical new engine only lasts around five years before becoming hopelessly inefficient.
PS I heard the Haas petroleum company is planning to put these bandits out of business. :)
