Hobyo Port

Postby SomaliTycoon » Thu Feb 18, 2016 9:22 pm

How can such a strategic port city be annexed by Galmudug?

I'm just curious, Hobyo at one point was the capital for Harti, in particular...the Majeerteen.
Someone please enlighten me. When did Habar Gidir conquer your ancient port city? When and how was it annexed?

Let's be honest. Hobyo is key, no sane person would allow another man to conquer it.

just like hawiye conqured Mandhera and kismayo which they have high stake, key movers and shakers.we will build a commercial port that will export livestock, uranimum and rare earth minerals that are found in abundance in mudug and galgaduud. a network of roads will connect it to major cities like mogadishu, galkacyo along the coast.

Hobyo was abandoned by the Majertein same way Zeila was abandoned after the decline of Adal Kingdom.

When the Osmaniya Sultanate of the Majertein declined due to decline of its allies including Oman, it could no longer afford to keep certain towns.

Majertein herders went into the hinterland in search for grassing and Hobyo offered nothing.

The Hawiye arrived with the Italians as they did in Mogadishu too.

Wtf

Learn your history fellas. Hobyo was never Daarood land, it was settled by Hawiye. The Majeerteen kingdom was forced to expand into it to prevent further expansion by the Omani Sultanate.
