The reason the crowd doesn't lynch that pilot is because of sensitive ethnic politics. The people of that region need to maintain friendly relations with the Vice President, so they had to restrain themselves that day. You need to understand Kenyan politics to understand these things.
Also this happened at a church gathering that was mostly attended by women and children, the pilot would have been hanged if it was a political rally. That is not even the VPs official pilot, the Vice President was traveling privately that day.

PS The pilot was arrested the same day and he didn't slap the cop he pushed her.
