AMERICANS TOURISTS REVIEW ABOUT MOGADISHU Hotels

Postby Strategic » Fri Mar 25, 2016 2:29 pm

Wacheka on the hotels he visited
The hotel is in KM4 and only 10 minutes from the airport.

I always stay in this hotel during my visits to Mogadishu. It is a good hotel with a beautiful garden and now a huge conference hall with a huge drop down screen. It is ideal for seminars, weddings, and the food is delicious!

The hotel had two conference halls and now have added a state of the art conference hall. It is beautifully done.

The hall has a sitting capacity of 300 people. The sound projection is good. Really impressive.

The catering is good with delicious meals. Place to hold your next seminar!

Room Tip: All rooms have A/Cs, free wifi and are beautifully furnished. Whichever room you get will give you t...

Beautiful beach. It was high tide when we visited, but I'm told that you can walk across (or take a boat) to the small island/mosque facing the resort. I'm a (white, female) American, and I felt very safe, especially since we went on a very quiet Thursday. I'm told that the place is packed on Fridays. I would say that I didn't feel particularly comfortable wearing just my swimsuit, so I stayed in my long dress (with my hair covered).

That being said, I only visited the beach for the afternoon, so I don't have any opinion of the hotel itself.

Me and my wife came to stay here last year, What a fantastic hotel the staff were very kind and the hotel was very clean. Mogadishu is a great city all year round due to its proximity to the equator insuring its always warm. As for night life this is where Mogadishu comes in to its element now often described as the Ibiza of Africa!!! Admittedly Alcohol, playing amplified music and men and women congregating together in public is illegal this really does not dampen the party vibe!!
I'm coming back in November with my 3 year old daughter to show the true East African gem of Somalia

Liked it and was safe. Anything can happen in this country but in general the people are very friendly and you can learn a lot from families trying to get by with very few jobs. The staff will do anything to try and make you happy to help encourage the rebuilding of their country. I do recommend only drinking bottled water and try to get your ro away from the street. Lovely people.
